In this work, I explore the reorganization and fragmentation of human anatomy through hyperrealistic sculptures made with alginate and plaster, later painted in acrylic, using my own body as a reference.

“Anamórfica” (Anamorphic) is composed of two hands connected at the wrist, forming a complete figure, an autonomous body. Rather than being symmetrical, the hands assume distinct positions. Translucent veins link the extremities, underscoring the continuity between the parts and the emergence of an independent object.

The logic continues in the work “Minhoca”: two fingers joined at the middle and turned in opposite directions. The sculpture “Vão-se os anéis, ficam os dedos” presents a detached piece of finger displayed inside an open black velvet ring box. In this work, unlike the previous two, the human figure appears as part of a whole, rather than as a new complete body in itself.

The reconfiguration of human anatomy in these works engages with the concept of the “uncanny valley”, where the mind perceives a dissonance between a realistic appearance and an anatomically impossible or distorted structure.
